Kiss Land from The Weeknd

Now, i would write about new album review from The Weeknd. I know is kind of late for review this day because Kiss Land was released in September 10, 2013. I'd give 8 rating for this album.

Kiss Land contains 10 songs:
  1. Professional
  2. The Town
  3. Adaptation
  4. Love in The Sky
  5. Belong To The World
  6. Live For
  7. Wanderlust
  8. Kiss Land
  9. Pretty
  10. Tears in The Rain

Abel Tesfaye who's the man behind The Weeknd still with his passion in RnB music although he had switched to major label. This album sounds terrific; music was stunning with pure frankness lyric. I knew Tesfaye always making lyrics frankness since 2011 when he released his mixtapes but this time Kiss Land such pure frankness. Somehow when i listen to this album i feel like nihilism playing in my head with good music. And Tesfaye still bring the dramatic ambience as always since 2011 until now. And that is wonderful! It is kind of identity for The Weeknd.

My favorite songs from this album are "Belong to the world", "Live for" and "Kiss Land". "Belong to the world" lyric tell us about a man who fall in love with prostitute. Belong to the world sounds like track "Machine Gun" from Portishead band. I don't mind if he copies the sound of percussion from "Machine Gun", this track really amazing, so dramatic, it's like i can feel what his problem and feel sorry for that.

"Live For" duet with Drake. Sounds still RnB but with rap from Drake. This song simply epic for "the single" and really suitable for major label. The lyric still pure frankness and dramatic but with Drake it's kind of a little cheer up ambience for this album.

For track "Wanderlust" Tesfaye got influence again. This time from Michael Jackson "Thriller".

Overall, this album tells us about loveless world, sex exploitation and surely emptiness wrapped with awesome sound from instrument.
